How could I have known I was going to become this important to you? by Tonya Rivera

How could I have known I was going to become this important to you?

You were my first dance partner.

It was a beautiful experience getting on stage with you the first time.

On the last night of our performance, you said into my ear, "I love you."

You touched my heart.

How could I have known I was going to become this important to you?

During the time that I was away from dance, three little angels and their mom would tell me that you wanted me to go back to dance.

I returned.

You gave me your beautiful friendship again.

How could I have known I was going to become this important to you?

I was going through a very hard time in life.

You were there for me.  I listened to you the most.

Yes, your tiny e-mails helped me lift my spirit back up

I always tell people you helped me with that.

How could I have known I was going to become this important to you?

You opened doors for me.

You took me places I had never been.

Because of you, I am where I am today.

I thank you for that.

How could I have known I was going to become this important to you?

Well, my sweet friend, I found out how important I was to you.

On June 11th, 2005, sitting in a coffee shop, I asked you the most important question that I ever had to ask anyone.

It still amazes me how fast you said, "Yes."

I want to cry when I think about your sweet tears rolling down your face

I would be able to go on with my life if God took my mom and Tina before me because you would be beside me to keep me strong.

This is something that I think about every day because you are willing to take me in.

I am blessed you are my best friend.

I love you so much.
